2. Killington Mountain Resort in Killington, Vermont

Contrary to the name of this city and the fact that it contains the largest vertical drop in the East Coast, it has in fact, not killed anyone. Killington is however, known as the “beast of the east” and though kids activities are offered, it is more recommended for experienced snow sport lovers. If you’re looking for a perfect mix of adrenaline and chill(oh snap, we did it again), this destination is perfect for your next vacation.

3. Gore Mountain in Warren County, New York

Okay, we know what you’re thinking. Killington Mountain…now GORE?! Hey, we didn’t pick these names! These ski destination are far from what they sound like. Gore Mountain is actually a great resort for beginners and kids! They even have a snow sports school for snowboarders and skiers of all skill levels! Check it out here.

4. Wild Cat Mountain in Coos County, New Hampshire

Great for all skill levels and highly appreciated for its beautiful scenery, this ski resort destination has something to do for everyone-even if you never step foot(or boot?) on the slopes. Though known for being the longest open season in New Hampshire, Wildcat is still only opened from early November to early May so there are always great ticket deal going on!

5. Butternut Basin in Great Barrington, Massachusetts

A more welcoming name than some above slopes, Butternut Basin got its name because of the plentiful rows of butternut trees in the mountain range. Another great family vacation destination, Ski Butternut offers lessons, multiple slope options, tubing rentals for adults and kids and of course, beautiful terrains and park trails to explore.
